Not Don Quixote. I made that mistake. A modernish Spanish translation of a 12th century translation of a story written in an 11th century dialect put me off learning Spanish for a very long time. I might just have well tried to learn English by reading Beowulf.
Action Thrillers are usually translated into many languages, might try there?
