Albeit something that I reckon everyone here has eaten on a ride before, I heartily recommend Soreen. Tastes great and easy to eat on the move. And DIRT cheap. You can get an enormous loaf for £1 when it's on sale in supermarkets.
I compared the nutrition /100g to cliff bars and they're very similar in terms of carbs, have less fat, but less protein (off the top of my head... that may be slightly wrong).
On Torq, I concur on the gels - pretty tasty. The flavours of the bars are a bit odd though - are they good?
