TS, wasn't sure about ba, did you make money on his transfer...

Also I agree with Chalfie..

Demba Ba's fucked off to Besiktas, you massive Jeez...
dis - also, it's not like the club hasn't tried to flog Torres but his wage demands are apparently a stumbling block for Inter and Atletico.
Drogba was only brought in when it became apparent that Lukaku wasn't happy to be second/third choice striker. Chelsea need a homegrown player and losing one is a double blow.
Chelsea's loss is Everton's gain. Let's hope there's a buy back/first refusal and sell on clause inserted in the transfer contract.

no, it was a £2.2m loss according to transfermarkt.
How are Spurs doing corny?

Also I agree with Chalfie..

TSNO doesn't seem to like strikers as they don't really fit into the 7-3 line up
-
• #108611
And let's not forget, DC is fucking shit.......
Shit is probably an overstatement but I think he won't merge in to the team well, three or four decent opening games in the season then lots of misses and almost goals.

Serious question - is there a striker in Chelsea's youth setup who is ready to step up to the mark?
I appreciate as an Arsenal fan I can't really claim any moral high ground, but has Chelsea's youth system produced a single regular first team player since Abramovich took over?
-
• #108613
^no, Chelsea have not. It seems all the good will in the...(Abramovich's pocket)....isn't enough to produce decent PL starting academy players, JT was the last.
To be fair, very few of the big clubs in England do.
Just spun through this.. three decent sounding talents.

Lukaku had a disappointing world cup, but he's still proven in the prem, is young enough to get better, and Chelsea should of held onto him. Chelsea's loss, Everton's gain.
Diego Costa isn't shit, I look forward to him scoring lots of goals. -

lucas peirzon is coming through, josh Mcekran was a 1st teamer who was doing well under Anchilotti but with the daft manger revolving door many of the youth team simply dont get a chance to progress, hoping that a few will push through this year, Nathan Aki being one
-
• #108616
I also don't think Diego Costa will be shit once he gets up and running in the Prem. Terrible WC for him though, but the rest of his team weren't exactly great either.

Schneiderlin has handed in a transfer request. Still think he'll be at Southampton this season, but maybe we'll get our way next year.
Corny, Sandro is past it, sadly. Massive legend and put some great shifts in, but he's not come back from his injury very well. Not the same player.

Spiderman hasn't put in a transfer request and trained today. Saints board have unequivocally said he won't be sold, so don't think any degree of toys out of the pram will see him leave. Same goes for Rodriguez.
Looking forward to seeing who Koeman spends his £90m on...

• #108619
Do we actually have a Soton fan?!?!!??!!! Amazing.
-
• #108620
He definitely has handed in a transfer request though...
-
• #108621
We do... Southampton born and bred...
Source on the transfer request? From what I know sky sports wrongly reported a transfer request but all other sources say there hasn't been one...
-
• #108622
well done Everton for signing Lukaku!
-
• #108623
Well Ryan Bertrand is the replacement for Luke Shaw then

Not surprised, I would if I supported Southampton.

28 mili. wowzers
I still don't think Lukaku is the finished article, he needs another season or two IMHO... £28.5m, if true, is a good bit of business tho'...
I would've rather kept him...
