  • Tubs is slower than clincher anyway.

  • Don't take the bait!

  • OLC i'll look out for you as you go past!

£50? We'll use the Ride London time to determine who "won".

  • Start Area: Yellow
    Wave:E
    Wave Load opening time: 06:05
    Wave Load closing time:06:35
    Start Time:07:05

I'd completely forgotten about this/ thought I wasn't riding. Balls.

  • What kind of food / drink are people taking? Nuun / High 5 Zero & water? Bananas and gels? Peanut butter sandwiches? 2 x 800 / 1000ml bottles?

  • I might make a batch of rice cakes, but I really have to check if my entry is legit.
I was supposed to be part of a team, who've all bailed...
Or a batch of my own energy bars.

  • Start Area: Green
    Wave:D
    Wave Load opening time: 06:45
    Wave Load closing time:07:15
    Start Time:07:50

Will be riding a stealthy steamroller fixed probably on my own unless I can make some fixed friends... Would hope to be averaging around the 16.5-17mph mark.

If you need to make up numbers in a team, I'd be interested. I did it solo last year and have been trying to convince myself I'm not bothered about missing it this year, but would quite like to.

  • They've all apparently withdrawn and got refunds, but I didn't get that email, so don't know where that leaves me. Will be calling Monday. Hopefully be able to wrangle an individual place..

  • Didn't see my start time on entry but I'm running on my mrs number and she got a place right at the back I think as her estimated time was real slow. Was hoping to get around in 4.40 but with the traffic it might not be possible. Will also need a group to work with. I'll be on my geared bike.

  • I did 60 miles in Kent today with only 1000m of climbing and averaged 18mph on my SS, but my goal is to get around the Ride 100 at 20mph. There is no way this is going to happen on my SS - I just don't have the legs - so may have to admit defeat/gears.

    Boo.

  • Do it on gears dan you'll end up spinning out whilst trains fly past

    Anyone want to sponsor me?

  • What kinda times are people expecting to put in?

I'm way behind on my fitness, I was hoping to take less than six hours but I should have done way more work after my knee ops, so I may crawl in with a seven hour plus time and hate myself.

    Anyone else?

  • Eight and a half. Last year I made pretty much the same time as Boris.
    (But I won't hate myself.)

  • Anyone with a spare bed in East London willing to put me up the night before?

  • I have a sofa

  • is it in East London?

  • Start Area: Black

                 Wave:F
                 Wave Load opening time: 06:27
                 Wave Load closing time:06:57
                 Start Time:07:37

Still need to put the road bike together, or i'll be doing this fixed lolol

  • i've looked in the magazine booklet and the slip of paper we got but i can't for the life of me work out where you see your start time? am i just plain stupid?

  • It was in an email, the one titled: 2014 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 - ACTION REQUIRED-Start details and Transport Options

  • ah right nice one, will have to check it out!

I'm hoping for 5hrs. Will see, haven't trained properly at all.
Worried about getting stuck in (cyclist) traffic so planning on hammering it to begin with.

personally based on last year's experience i wouldn't hammer it to begin with. just not worth it. i started at the back and the traffic wasn't that bad. still got under 5 hours. i'd save energy for later once it opens up
