sounds like you had a bad race hats but it happens to us all from time to time. sounds like you toughed it out well though as you often do with such things. hope the claw thing is nothing serious.
I got bitten by something during the hackney half and it wouldn't stop bleeding for about 20 minutes. then it swelled up and I had what looked like a massive mosquito bite running the full length of my forearm and about 2 inches wide. insects are dicks.
