  • Skydancer, brilliant work, think mutual understanding is important, I've driven vans for a living and it's no fun. The situation that these people are put in is unfair and the equipment they are given is inadequate.

On passing on the right - had an incident last winter where I got hit by a car coming out of a junction when I was passing stationary traffic on the outside which was waiting to turn into a junction, it was a one way st (so no traffic should be exiting it) but when I tried to talked to a lawyer was told I had no case as passing on the outside is considered dangerous. There was a cycle lane on the inside but no one in their right mind is going to use that when there's a left turn.

I was unconcious for a bit and needed a new front wheel so it wasn't a major thing but it's an issue if passing on the outside (the safer side) compromises your position legally.
