I think the extent of the public/employer based backlash was influenced strongly by people's incredulity at her being a social media content developer.

Obviously there still would have been some of it but the company came out with an unnecessary apology which drew all the moths to the Netflix playing Ipad screen.

If they had kept shtum and dealt with it internally I don't think half the comments or reviewers wold have even known about it.
