hmmm. so do you actually have any proof that the deposit you gave to your landlord is actually in a deposit protection scheme? an email should have been sent to you (or maybe a letter, I guess it might depend on which thing they use) right at the beginning as confirmation and containing ID and details.
it might be possible to contact the schemes and ask them to search by address? they are listed here: https://www.gov.uk/deposit-protection-schemes-and-landlords/overview
but it's pretty clear they should have given you details of where your deposit is being held: https://www.gov.uk/deposit-protection-schemes-and-landlords/information-you-must-give-to-your-tenants
