Corrected now. You can always tell someone that makes entries on the fly.
Should have read as Grosjean. :-)

Any predictions for the race?
I think the qualy positions look good for the podium also. Lewis will need alot of luck to catch them, and Alonso must be wondering what he can do to get near Massa. Life itself is a cruel sport. Funny too.

Bottas FTW.

Massa in typical Massa-style crash shocker.
Does that fucker ever look before he turns?

This is why I love watching Hamilton.
This race is nuts. Good to see the top drivers in the midfield

That was some mental overtaking

Agreed.

Will there be highlights on the bbc website?

Bottas FTW.
Not far away. Williams really have a good package. If Massa keeps stuffing the cars, he may be replaced sooner rather than later. Would Ricciardo jump ship? He appears a very ambitious young man.
Or might Alonso have enough of being an also ran, and want to be with a team that has the potential to win. Sadly, I think Ferrari will be even further back next year. Unless Brawn has arrived to save the day.
I love conspiracy theories me. :-D

If Massa keeps stuffing the cars, then surely Susie Woolf would get a look in, no?
-
• #4363
That would be cool.
Ricciardo was one of the best drivers to watch yesterday. That battle with Alonso was great.

I wish they would decide how to pronounce his name though (Ree-chee-ardo, surely?)
At one point I thought they were telling me Riccardo Patrese had suddenly turned up in a car. -

Welcome to the Filipe Massa School of Driving

What was it with the on-screen fuel consumption stats yesterday?
Towards the end of the race, there was a graphic showing a list of drivers averaging around 2l per lap with 'used to date' totals of around 120l. Surely that was nonsense with a 100l per race limit?

• #4367
what mpg do they do during a race ?

Kidding, right?

Race distance (apart from Monaco) is the least number of complete laps that exceed 305km. So, if the race was 305km and you used all your 100l of fuel, it would be about 8.6mpg - that would be the worst case, though.

Yeah, who'd let a woman drive, eh?

Susie's doing a much better job than I imagined, then again I only watched her in DTM and as far as I recall she always had a year old car which would explain the performance deficit. 0.2 seconds off Massa is pretty respectable.
My point was of course the ignorance that tends to gather around crashes with Massa. Both in Germany and Canada he was punted off by another driver, yet it's always his fault according to the folks on this thread. It's getting as bad as listening to football fans to be honest.

My view is that you hire a veteran driver like Massa for the experience, and an experienced driver ought to know, especially after having (and arguably causing) at least 3 similar crashes, that you do not cut across a corner without looking to see if another car is there. Especially not at the start when it's highly likely.
So if Williams are not getting benefit from his experience then I don't see why they'd continue to pay him when they have a test driver who would attract an awful lot of sponsorship and publicity on the books. And might smash fewer of their cars up. -

I don't think Susie Wolff is better than any of the present crop of F1 drivers, but yes, if she were allowed even a couple races, I think viewing figures would rise. And I agree that advertising revenue would reach new heights.

Do you really think Susie will fetch more sponsorship with her? I would imagine that Massa, a national Brazilian icon, would easily have more sponsorship money available to bring to the table. Isn't that how it works in the lower ranking teams?

Sorry, who??
