Ambrosia rice recipe:
1 part cooked rice
1 part cool whip
1 can mandarin oranges
1 can pineapple chunks
1 handful of mini marshmallows
1 friend's lonely aunt cooing that ambrosia salad is an aphrodisiac and tieing maraschino cherry stems into knots with her tongue

It is a horrible horrible dish that is common go-to-the-lake-and-jetski fodder for the entire middle section of america. It is one of many 'salads' that pair well with miracle whip, american cheese and baloney sandwiches. If you eat enough of it you will start finding the combination of ed hardy shirts and ugg boots to be irresistibly appealing.

Ambrosia rice comes in a tin. The recipe is generally "open tin, eat", some people heat it up.

It triggered my conditioning. You are lucky you have never encountered a jello salad. I can't even imagine what life would be like for me today had I not been irrevocably exposed to it as a young. I would probably have become a happy, functioning, adult.

Hot dish is not always bad. It involves tater tots and cheeze wiz. Unclear if you have these products.

I have never made hot dish before but I have eaten it. It is basically canned cream of mushroom soup and canned green beans on the bottom, a layer of tater tots, and then cheez whiz on top. Then the whole thing is baked.
