re calling the vendor: In my opinion it is not bad form in anyway. You are spending a sizeable portion of a MILLION POUNDS. If you want to talk to the vendors you bloody well can. Agents can get to fuck.
In any other transaction of this size you would be playing golf with the vendor and flirting with their first born.
