EDIT! I dun a rong. It was the Blues Deville series with the 6V6 outputs I didn't like. The Blues Junior and Pro Junior both have EL84 output sections. They're like mini Fendery AC30s and AC15s.
I've tried the re-issue AC15s and they're actually pretty great. There a few different levels of spec, origin and quality though... I'm pretty out of touch with the finer details.
I'd always used to advocate s/h silverface Fenders over new re-issue stuff but even they seem to be commanding silly money now. They even re-issued the whole series, but with the obligatory extra HOT gain stages that no-one in their right mind wants. Why do amp manufacturers always do that?
Depends what size you want I spose. I was never big fan of the Blues Junior (12' speaker and I think a 6V6 output tube), the smaller Pro Junior has 2 knobs, a 10" speaker and EL84 output tubes and sounds more Vox-ish than Fendery. In your budget too: http://www.reidys.com/pr/guitar-amplifiers/fender-pro-junior-15w-45/?&utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=Feed&utm_campaign=PriceComparison&gclid=CjwKEAjwuYOeBRCy3pLljpjDkDcSJAAhA4mtGp-Pb4x0rtEcZzmwZ4aOg5aPz1SSAdytVltMbBVJbxoC1vXw_wcB
