• Clear enough reg number that the daily mail blanked it out. Wouldn't slow finding them...

  • Do people book appointments at kwikfit or just turn up? I guess the police will be checking who had an appointment at kwikfit for that time as well.

  • Clear enough reg number that the daily mail blanked it out. Wouldn't slow finding them...

Sez fake plates in the article.

  • Sez fake plates in the article.

And yet real enough that if the driver was spotted earlier in the day or is now a neighbour/colleague/whoever who is randomly carless someone might notice. Clear from the video now I'm not on my phone the "fake/stolen" plate is PL02 UDP.

  • Article says vehicle registered to previous owner.

Does this just mean owner just said 'oh, wasn't me guv - I sold it a few months back'.

  • To be fair, that would explain why they left straight away.

  • It's very common for drivers who crash their car when pissed to leave the scene, then report the car stolen when they get home - this might be in that vein?

i.e. "I sold it to this bloke weeks ago"

  • Another depressing outcome that it's better to leave the scene of crime than to stay when under the influence.

  • They could always just ask the Kwikfit for the name of the person that had booked the car in...

Perish the thought that plod getsoff its fat, lazy, racist, sexist arses and does a days work (that doesnt involve selling drugs, destroying evidence, beating up and / or sexually assaulting suspects).

  • where do i sign up!?

  • So, this car was pulling into Kwikfit without looking around (which is probably correlated with being someone who pulls in there a lot) and had a fake plate (which is probably correlated with being someone who can make up number plates, and is certainly correlated with being unscrupulous and dishonest)

It sounds like the driver may work in the Kwikfit.

  • ...had a fake plate (which is probably correlated with being someone who can make up number plates...

Or has access to The Internet, where number plates with any combination of letters and numbers that you like are freely and widely available.

  • Reported a guy in a silver car who overtook a stationary car to go steaming through a set of red lights, nearly taking out me waiting at the lights and a ped on the crossing

police response "there's probably nothing we can do but I'll put an alert out". Better than nothing I suppose.

on the offchance anyone sees the numberplate LT10 BVS please feel free to take a shit on his bonnet, kick his wing mirrors off or spit through his open window. Megacunt.

  • Does anybody ever see a correlation with drivers going through Zebra crossings when you have stopped for them?
This morning I stopped as a schoolgirl was about to step onto one, I hear a car coming from behind and as she is half way across it goes around me and in front of her making her jump back. I guess as she had saw I stopped so assumed he would too.

He flashed his hazards as he went off by way of apology only to narrowly miss the amber and jump the red.

    Cunt

  • I got stopped by one of them plastic cop's a few weeks back.. Apparently I should have stopped at the crossing, even though the guy crossing was crossing not on the actual crossing but a few meters away from it. Didn't seem to matter that the plastic cop saw the man crossing I should be aware at all times.

  • I've recently started reporting dangerous drivers to Roadsafe London. I doubt it does anything but what else can I do?

The two incidents I've reported so far:

One was a driver of a Mercedes Benz Sprinter van who cut across two lanes of traffic on Marylebone Road to take an illegal left hand turn into Marylebone High Street. In the process he forced me to first attempt to break from 30mph but being unable to do this in time unless I wanted to plant myself head first in the side of his van the only thing I could do was try and get in front of him. I managed to do so but his front bumper was millimetres from my rear tire and I was forced to emergency brake on the pedestrian crossing. Fun times. I caught up with him and turns out he was driving an unmarked "secure cash delivery vehicle" with windows and doors locked in place until their final destination. I held him up at a crossing while I asked him to explain himself (the adrenalin enforced rush didn't do my temper any favours). Him and his co-driver just laughed at me while I took photos of the license plate and driver. Reported to Roadsafe but all they said they would do was send a letter reminding him of the rules of the road.
    Great.

Second encounter was last Friday on Upper Street right outside Angel station going north. I was in the ASL and when the lights turned green I set off at a decent speed until I noticed the red traffic lights further ahead, I went into the left hand lane to allow traffic to overtake me. A black Volkswagen Touran did exactly that. However he timed it so that he turned into my lane as his front wheels were parallel with my front wheel. He even looked into his side mirror and stared right into my eyes while doing so. Que me swooping into the left hand bus trying to not get side swiped. I then slowed down and indicated to go into the right hand lane instead, he then immediately went right as well while again looking me into my eyes (is this flirting?). I got annoyed so asked him what in god's name he was doing. He then called me a dangerous cyclist and asked why the f**k I needed the entire lane to cycle in. I explained to him about riding in the primary position and then he went on about road tax. The usual.

Worse was at Essex Street station traffic lights when he had somehow caught up with me, and started creeping up to my back wheel. I ignored him and just sat behind the bus in front of me. I then see him come out of his car and as I turn around he freezes momentarily and pretends to adjust the ski box on his roof. He then gets back into the car and pulls up alongside me and just sits there and grins at me. Lights turn green and I let him go off because what's the point?

Sorry about the rant.. feel free to ignore.

  • Definitely a cunt.

Suggestion to double penalty to 6 points for using a mobile phone whilst driving.

  • Doesn't matter if the police won't ever pull anyone over for doing it, because they all do it themselves.

  • They did issue close to 100,000 FPNs for it last year though.

  • The increased sanctions would mean a driver could get banned if they got caught twice in three years.

Since mobile phone impaired your judgement more than drink driving (especially texting), perhaps once should be enough.

No point either way as there's never enough polices on the road.

    They won't ever do it.

    Do it 100,00+ times

  • Allens of Mayfair driver this morning, Prince's St. Tried to overtake 3 deep group between the lights, then honked and revved at us all to get out the way so he could try and overtake...straight into a red light.

  • re: texting- posted this in the campaigning thread.
