gradually edging closer to making a decision.
I want a bike I can disappear for the weekend on, as well as commute and ride some trails.
So a MTB that can be loaded up.
The On-One 456 is looking good. A mate of mine loves his and recommended. Decent kit for a beginner in terms of mountain biking and has rear rack mounts for packing. That with one of them big saddle bags and a small bar bag could do the trick well.
Maybe have option to switch to rigid fork and woodchippers if the time was right.
Other option is a Karate Monkey ops. A lot more expensive (over double I reckon) but, 29er, tapered fork etc may be better in the long run?
No rack mounts but could fit saddle bag and switch to ECR fork for front rack fun and again woodchippers.
