  • Cool, thanks for an advice. My brother told me the same!

  • will probably re-lacquer (Armourtex or Vaz?)

why? you have the raw look with a black fork, almost great

  • ^ lovely bike buddy! Looks excellent and not even finished. Yeh armourtex treat it with some sort of sulphate compound before lacquering it so it goes a uniform dark grey colour. Pretty much the reason I didn't get it done. Powdercoating from them, however, is impeccable. How you finding the ride on it?

  • What is the front hub ? nice bike !

    SONIC Paris Roubaix
    It's very nicely made

  • Just got back my old Lemond Fillmore frame. Fair to say it's had a few stickers added since I last owned it.

Wheels and tyres and bottle cages are temporary.

These will be going on this week.

H Plus Son Archetypes on Shimano XT hubs. Rear is a 15mm bolt through with custom axle/converter.

  • ^ 63g of stickers!?

  • ...
For sure i don't want to use ergonovas anymore... Any suggestions on (carbon) track bars that doesn't have much drop?

    zipp service course sl range.
the ramp on the compact (short and shallow) drops is so lovely with a ~15cm saddle-bar drop.

Can you tell me more about that set? especially the hubs and how you did the conversion?

    This is the reason:

Lacquer peeled of on few places and especially down tube is rusty as fuck.

    And thank you Tom :)
It's great, can't wait to put 28c to the back and 25c to the front!
    And no toe overlap, happy!

Is that the HB-T780 on the front too?

Made the axle myself. Like tester I used stainless. End caps are aluminium with the serrated rings pinched from a pair of cracked hope washers. Washers are also from hope. Bolts are standard M10 stainless cap head. Spaced 8.5mm drive side and 11.5mm non drive for a 42mm chainline.

Yeah, I went for the HB-T780, just for the matching finish really and wanted both hubs to be good and reliable as it's going to see a lot of bad weather riding.

I'm surprised velosolo haven't produced something like this. I think it's a much better solution than their replacement axle and I think there's scope to do it with aluminium, providing it's decent quality material.

  • I've yet to find the winning combination for this bike, but I'm close...I was thinking of selling it as the Plum is slightly more fun to ride, but this feels way less fragile and feels really planted.

Borrowed wheelset gives perfect chainline...so I'm thinking of building up a similar wheelset for it, maybe 32h Formula hubs, black tb14s or similar, 28mm Paselas.

Not sure on the black stem/seatpost either, might swap out for silver equivalents #ocd

True, loads of road hubs with 15mm aluminium axles. I don't even think you actually need to go to the expense of 7075T6 as many do, White Industries Eno hubs have 15mm 6061 aluminium axles for example.

  • ^^

Paselas didn't seem to like skids when I had them. Randonneur tractor tyres work. Probs better off with an Archetype or deeper rear rim if you like it stiff. #euph

You could ignore both these things and go for what looks nice.

  • True...I'll have a think but you're probably right :)

I'm also failing at life with regards to the 5th hidden chainring bolt on Campag Record Cranks...

Where can I get one (with the spacer)? Broke the other one, but luckily managed to get the threaded part out of the cranks with no damage

  • You do, but you don't need to pay that for it.

  • good news... do you know where I can get one cheap?

Can't see any on SJS etc

  • If the Veloce/Mirage Ultratorque one fits, you can have the one that's in my parts bin.

  • Is there any reason it shouldn't? What about the spacer? I wonder if a vbrake spacer will work, probably not..

Almost done, just need a pair of archetypes to lace op to my King hubs

  • Hydration sorted, thanks Apollo & B0N0R for the tip

  • ^I'd clamp on the actual cage mount, not the cage itself. what you done deforms the cage and also scratches your bottle. I learnt that the hard way...
