  • is your name ollie thousand?

  • Have had a look at the geometries of Canyondale side by side and think an L would be best. Same reach with a bit less stack which I'd define as perfect.

Having only owned the alloy Cad, I don't know anything of carbon life. The Ultimate CF SL 9.0 is £400 more than the AL version if they're both Ultegra, saving around 350-400g. Translating that to actual riding experience, would I be better off waiting a bit longer and getting the CF?

Get the AL, sell the stupid proprietarily built wheels and spend the difference on sexy carbon wheels.

    Alu 4 lyfe

  • I do have a fetish for deep carbon. Think it'll end up being oriental crabon, mind you

  • The best kind. $3600 Zipps >>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Doing it Properly <<<<<<<

  • "Properly" is something that evades my income bracket in the costly world of modern cycling unfortunately

I'll take my chances with a reputed Chinese retailer and crack on with enjoying my prospective bike

  • Planet X carbon is OK. Comes with a warranty too..

  • Tonights ride = snapped spoke (rear wheel each time) on;

    • Reynolds 60mmish tubs
    • Zipp 404 Firecrests
    • Campag Boras

Everyone riding cheap Chinese wheels or 'proper' training wheels were smugasf*ck.

  • all three of those? Fark.

  • Yep. No crashes resulted (the bora-breaker almost took me out).

None of those riders are heavy, none of those wheels are old/abused.

  • Ouch, that's a lot of gwop down the drain, and that's me off to Ali Express

  • Were the Firecrests the design with the straight pull spokes on the drive side?

  • Not sure. I'll ask/see next week.

  • good old box section rims...

  • The new aeroad in canyon's infamous stealth paint job.

  • Movistar version is better IMO

  • Awesome. Be interesting to see the aero improvement in tests over the old one (which was not very aero).

  • Moar

  • Does anyone know what's going on at the fork crown there?
    Integrated brakes?

  • yes

  • Lush!!!!
