It's all a ploy. Once saturation point is reached and enough freds are TeamSky high on Rapha gear, then the team can train on British roads, just blending in. Stannard shouting "hole" through British January weather is so much cheaper than all the air fairs with excess (Rapha) luggage – saving James Murdoch money so he can pay his imminent US legal fees. Brailsford can use the Tenerife gaff for a nice holiday. Thomas gets a Jaguar. Everyone is happy.
