Sorry for bailing so early but I got a twinge on the way out and as soon as we set off I realised that it was a silly idea to stress it further. Rode back so with the ride out I got a decent run out. I'll now have to console myself with whisky and footy sob.

Lovely evening folks - nice little runout - curious TOWIE X Archers collabo action at the halfway pub and surprise bike friendly pub at the end!
Basically bike ride + pubs = win.

Anyone fancy riding Tuesday or Wednesday this week? Haven't given any thought to routes.
-
• #511
There were mutterings about going weekly, so there should be takers. Anywhere in particular take your fancy?
-
• #512
I'm easy - whatever more regular riders fancy. I've never done Ingatestone, I don't think.
-
• #513
Oh, and I cld probably only do Wednesday, now.
-
• #514
But conditions do look good on Wednesday.
-
• #515
yes to this Wednesday

Wednesday would be my choice, kinda fits the theme here, but we did Ingatestone the time before last. Not that I mind doing it again, just worried that if we do it too often we might actually learn the proper route. One has to respect tradition.
Potter's Bar is always a good standby.

• #517
Good for me. I can garminate if none of the regulars are around.
-
• #518
I will probably ride Potter's Bar Thursday, but can't do wednesday.
Any Bath News?

Had mine for the month already.

I'm up for PB on Weds.

I was having a bit of a think (risky I know but sometimes it's unavoidable) and I thought it might be fun to do a bit of the TdF route. Looks like the best bit for this would be accessible from Ingatestone, The circular routes I tried plotting came in at a slightly too ambitious mileage or didn't take in enough of the route to satisfy me so I plotted a one way out of Ingatestone and ending at Chingford...
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/5182736
The route takes in a lot of Epping New Road so I diverted the last bit over a hill, through the forest and slung in a bit of off road for good measure. Any one got thoughts, ideas or abuse for me?

Claypit Hill looks to become a bit brutal, if the RideWithGPS elevation is to be believed. That said, I have found it to exaggerate the slope at times.
Ah, a quick streetview check confirms the brutality ;)

Yep, it's a bugger, but it's short. Similar to Dawes Hill which we do at the end of E4 Ecstasy.

Let's DO IT! 19.18 from Liverpool St?

Daws Hill is actually even shorter than you think. :)
I highly object to this.
And anyway, the actual excuse I won the award for was the friction burns on my arse from falling downstairs.
