Why do they design brakes whereby the only method of tightening the pads, once carefully aligned with the rim, is to apply force to a bolt that completely whacks the pads out of alignment?
Because it's simple, cheap, light, reliable and doesn't mess up the pad alignment for the 99% of bike mechanics who know what they are doing :-)
