I think I need Wound Ups, I was never a fan before but they suit TM's so well.

I have an issue with my Selle Italia Flite Re-issue.
I have ridden it for 2 years now and now it has started to creak like crazy but I can't notice any visual damage on saddle rails or saddle shell. Anyone had this issue? I think warranty won't cover it as I don't have damage to show them.
Would like to make it as quiet as it was but will search the original flite in not so ratty condition as I have throwing around now in the same timeI found that mine was creaking after breaking in - but believe it was purely down to shell of saddle flexing more and rubbing against the seatpost clamp - moved saddle forward a few mms no issue. I've broken my 4th of these now and I need something to go in their place. They're a shit design anyway. They only fit the supplied, low quality bolts which work themselves loose. The heads of the bolts also sit too proud, marking bottles.
King Ti are nice but too pricey, stainless nice but too heavy.
Cheap alloy cages work pretty well but tend to mess bottles up very quickly so I'm looking at things like the resin Elites (below).
Any thoughts and/or recommendations?
Water has a mass of 1g / ml. If you've found a stainless steel one you like just don't quite fill your bottle to the top. Are we talking something like 30g - 40g difference per cage?

arundel stainless? They're excellent, not heavy either.

They're a few Gs heavier than King Stainless.
Looking at the weight of the Elite vs King there's only 5g difference... so I'll probably go for the Kings unless there's some advantage to the Arundel.

The Cannodale alloy cages are quite nice (40g ish), strong an don't (unduly) mark bottles. That said I would keep an eye out for second hand King Ti- I got a pair for £50 delivered from this forum.

I had this on a Flite as well, it was flexing so much I could feel the seatpost through the saddle. Made for an incredibly uncomfortable ride.

Cannondale do a few, is it these that you've used?http://www.cannondalespares.com/Cannondale-GT40-Alu-Bottle-Cage/product_detail/3-39901

Elite cages are really good, easy to get bottles in and out of and hold them very securely. I've even sometimes not pushed a bottle all the way down and it still hasn't budged an inch.

I've not managed to break one yet either

Tacx tao; but you can only use tacx bottles
cheap; light; reliable; easy to get bottles out; secure

The Tao is the one he said he has snapped 4 times now. I have also snapped one surprisingly easily.

I have Elites on the Donohue above. They're grand and were good value too.

The Taos just cracked through use rather than being knocked or anything.
They fit regular bottles BTW amey.

Elite Custom Race are cheap, light, look great and good enough for French cobbles. And there're used by pros. It's a no brainer.

Those are the ones- my System Six came with one black, one silver to match the frame.
Very secure, cheap as chips, I replaced them with the Smud ones until LMNH broke one, then I got the King Ti as they promised to be hardier.
Me Julie is using the GT40's on her cross bike.

OK some good options, thanks all.

Tacx Elites are great, but be careful if you ever ride in normal trousers, I've broken two of the seat tube mounted ones catching my hem on the pointy bit at the side.
Dunno, bet that front end digs right in.
