The batteries are not waterproof but can be made so with a bit of waterproof sealant. Buy one , for the price you will not be disappointed. I have a couple and they are something like 3 years old and still going strong. Would the batteries last 3-6 hours though? I used to use mine in winter and I had to charge it every 3 days and that was just over a 1hr riding a day and on flash mode, rather than full beam...
