Hey hey, I've recently started to work in London and have been introduced to fixed gear for the first time. Looking to learn more and make this a new obsession!

Isn't that the best technique?
Not so sure! I haven't gotten round to attacking, making breaks, or being properly tactical* yet. I'm a negative racer at the minute which isn't great I don't think? I still don't take the wheel enough either. Working on that. Some day…looks off wistfully into the distance…
*ETA that should read tactical in any way shape or form yet (!)

Hi all
I'm Ben. I love London and love fixed gear bikes - currently riding a Mango, bought it as a novelty but absolutely love fixed gear cycling! Now trying to conquer lots of hills in and around Derbyshire on it.
I've ridden in NYC, London and Paris. London is my favourite thus far.
Anyway - hello.

Havent really introduced myself here yet, registered January of this year but wasnt really active. Just a lurker with several conversations via PM. Moved from japan > philippines > england just last year. Not really a fixed rider as I always rode road bikes. Riding an NJS frame at the moment, and a van nicholas chinook road bike. Going to check out the fixed gear community here in London.
Dont ask me to skid if you see me as I do not have that skill perfected yet.. can do a bit but wobbly...
See you around!

Evening! Been a lurker for a while. Enjoy reading, so thought it'd be be better if I also contributed! Mainly a road bike person, have also been known to do the odd triathlon, although maybe I shouldn't be admitting that :)

Hi, I'm Alex. Live in Oval. Long time lurker who's just browsed every now and then. Finally signed up after getting myself a Vitus Vee-1 jobby for the ride to/from work, imagine evetually I'll end up doing a lot more with it as I get used to the idea of a singlespeed and learn a trick or two here and there.
Boom.

Boom.
Oh dear.
Is the bike alright? :)

From the two rides I've had to/from work so far it feels really fun, certainly better than the hour walk I was doing before (past the Oval towards Vauxhall, over the bridge, through Pimlico then Sloane Square.
Think my rear brake needs a little tinkering, nowhere near as snappy as my front, but maybe I'm being paranoid.

Just got my first ever race bike. Gazelle Champion Mondial from 1984. What a wonderful, if sometimes scary experience. Now just to figure out how to use the old school shifters :-)
Cheers from Holland!
