What you gonna get?

Weird... Guess she'll get back to me at some point.
Getting a switchblade, and one of her little black hearts. -

Is there etiquette regarding taking your own artwork in for a tattoo? M friend is an illustrator and is designing a tattoo for me. Would it be rude to ask a tattooist to essentially trace her design, without any creative input?
-
• #9056
I guess it depends on the artist more than anything.
-

Although I know that's probably the vaguest and least helpful answer ever... What I meant was that some artists will be more than happy to more or less copy an image (perhaps tweaking it to make it work better as a tattoo rather than an illustration). Whereas others would much rather only tattoo original work.

I've had work done by Henry Hate from illustrations by a friend. He didn't bat an eyelid about it and did a great job.

Very much depends on the artist but I dont think youll have a problem finding somebody to do it for you

Booked in for a big cover up on my arm with Raph Cemo in august.
Had a good chat with him on Saturday, really nice guy. Also had a fun morning with Sarah Keeley at AKA on Saturday morning. Got one of her Black Hearts, and a switchblade on my leg. She is super relaxed and very easy going. Reccomended!

jv it's going to be this piece.
But only jesus and the clouds, not all the people down the bottom and obviously simplified a bit so it ages well and all that jazz.
-
• #9066
nice! I like the people at the bottom but it might be too complex for a tattoo

Dakin, currently getting my shin tattooed by Martin Jahn. It's mostly fine!

Chances are the design will need to be modified as skin and paper are very different mediums, depending on size it may not work very well in it's original form.
Studios don't charge for consulting so pop along and see what they can do.

I usually just read while being tattoo'd. I figured they would want me to be still rather than chatting the whole time and otherwise I would get bored.
