  • Installed a new BB and chainset (Miche Primato Advanced and 107mm BB) over the weekend. Because the inside of the bb shell was rusted, the longer threads of the new BB mean it wouldn't install flush, leaving a ~1mm gap between the shell and the flange. It seems secure enough and I've made marks so I can tell if it moves at all.

Figured I'd get the threads sorted, but it looks like there's even less than 1mm clearance between the chainstay and chainring bolts so if it's installed properly I'm worried they'll foul each other.

Am I right thinking the solution is to get the threads fixed and install the BB with a spacer? Reckon something like 0.5mm would do it. Otherwise I guess it'd have to be a wider BB, although I was led to believe 107mm matched the chainset, and chainline is ok as far as I can tell.
