The fork is on, albeit the headset isn't preloaded yet. But I've progressed the build. Things now take a break for a few days as I'm away to visit my parents in the icy north, so let's take a look at progress so far:
Srsly guys I hope you like my washing machine.
I've a few bits that still need to be bought to get it rolling:
-Derailleur shim
-New 10 speed chain (I think the one I have is a bit short)
-New (better) downtube cable stops
-New inner brake cables
Then I have a short-term wishlist:
-Racks
-New front wheel for when riding loaded (I can grab this from my pile of spares)
-Bottle cages
And a long-term wishlist:
-New saddle (I favour Romins but they're a bit pricey)
-Inline post (I can get away with the one on there which is a parts-bin find, but inline would be nicer and make it easier to mount my saddlebag)
-New stem (purely for matchy matchy points)
-Bigger fatter less knobbly tyres for road and gravel adventures
Apologies for the lack of good pics. I shall take better ones when there's some daylight! But I'm happy - this is one of my favourite bits of a build, when the project crosses the cusp from 'assortment of parts' to 'oh it almost looks like a bike now'.
