Awesome! They were still going strong at 4.30pm. Finding it hard to feel any sympathy for them, I must say.
While taxis are our traditional fiend I do agree with the position of the drivers. Taxis are part of the public transit system and are regulated. Uber and others undermine the foundation of that pillar by exploiting "loopholes" in the regulation. This can lead to not just a collapse of the traditional pillar but also lead to wild uncontrolled (and unregulated) taxi-like services exploting the financial benefits (profit) without the obligations--- and without legal limits on their numbers. Its a bit like letting loose large numbers of hyenas to combat a few city rats.
