I am gathering loads of info from the forum, but I have a couple of questions abour a specific model that I can't find anything about... I am posting them here as I can't create any new thead just yet. I hope that's alright.
However, I am using now a semi destroyed old SS, in a 42x16 setup (had to count the teeth, I never needed to know this before:) )and with a recent injury in my knee, I am considering something slightly lighter.
The new bike comes with a 48x17 setup, so using Sheldon's brown calculator (hey, a few days ago I didn't know who he was, or what a gear ratio was!!!!!), I am thinking of swapping the sproket for a 19T or even try with a 20T and then move slowly up.
The wheelset is AXIS Classic Track Fixed Wheel, but I can;t find any info about the rear hub.
Can anyone confirm if the hub that comes with it is a flip-flop? I've read contradictory opinions in several places.
Assuming it is a flip-flop in the end, I would like to add a freewheeler as well, although finding 20T free wheel sprockets seems difficult, whereas a 16 or 17 can be found anywhere. Why is that? are they not standard? Am I missing something?
-And last but not least, If someone has a good or bad opinion about this bike, I would love to hear any comments.
Thanks a lot in advance!!!!
