While I was supposed to be working today I read the Guardian's extensive report on the shocking and barbaric things that appear to be happening within the prawn supply chain in south east Asia (particularly Thailand), in order to provide supermarkets globally (and even our chicken farms) with fishmeal/prawns.
The brutal accounts of boats packed with migrant workers who are tricked, enslaved, starved, tortured, kept at sea for years and even killed, reads like something out of a medieval history book.
