^keep seeing that in related videos on youtube, but never click because
1). The buzzfeed-esque title.
2). The length of the video
3). The thumbnail of the lectureris it actually any good?

You forgot:
4) Stupid t-shirt.
Would also like to know if any good.

Saw bits of his stuff and could hardly stand hearing / watching him talk, just found it very annoying,
but watched the video apollo posted from beginning to end - and he's much more a "normal" guy there (instead of a jumpy kook),
and indeed does have some really good points. -

I tried watching it but after he said it was an hour and a half long 4 times, I realised I had better things to do including an unplanned sofa-nap.

Tried watching it and immediately wanted to slap him with a chair. All that "own it!" shit really rubs me up the wrong way.

Peta pixel recommended this Lightroom tutorial - also 75mins though. Haven't watched it yet:

I just want to take Photos mate, calm yourself.

Heh, I know... I just think videos like that will in no way make you better, if that's what you mean. The only way of doing that is learning how to see and that just takes time and practice and having some sort of direction you want to go in.
To be fair, some of his other videos are a lot less douchey / motivational speaker-esque. -

^^^Will give that a spin later on, cheers
Had some fun at the London Nocturne trying to photograph fast moving subjects for the first time. And apart from simply just getting the smallest shutter speed possible to capture the action, I thought I'd try my hand at following the subject with a slower shutter speed to blur out the background and keep the subject in focus (no idea what this is called, but I imagine its a bread a butter technique for sports photography)
I was using a 30mm lens on my crop sensor so fortunately I wasn't too far from the action.
And just a couple others, I left before the mens elite crit as I was feeling like shit.

Learning to track is a proper bastard. Had instant respect for the sports guys. Fastest way I learnt, superbike track days with a 200mm lens limited to ISO400. All about positioning.

^I know right, and I wasn't photographing vehicles travelling >100mph!

Anyone thinking of selling a Canon EF 40mm pancake? Would like to stick one on my girlfriends 100d. For her, of course.

Have a look on eBay, you can probably get a new one for under £100.

I pretty much only ever use 1/30th for pans, max aperture then adjust the ISO for the right exposure.
there's a few more examples at www.samtaylorphoto.co.uk (shameless plug)

Wow that second one is lovely!
I really need to up my panning game...

Cheers, shooting pans on a rough mtb course is a nightmare because of the vertical movement as well as horizontal, but that one came out ok. I shoot at 8fps as well which is handy because in bursts of 3 or 4 usually one comes out ok.

I didn't think the second one was anything special to be honest, but you guys seem to like it! Here's some similar ones...
And for some more general downhill ones...
love the kids reaction this one (rider is downhill world champion, Steve Peat)
I like my black and white
Thanks, I'm really enjoying it. It definitely doesn't feel like the sort of lens you can pick up new for under £100. Focus is fast, accurate and silent, it's more than sharp enough for me, it seems to be pretty resilient too and I've been caught out in light showers with it before. Also doesn't flare that easily.
It has a nice vignette wide open, that's not really a good or bad thing for me.
I actually watch this guys videos on youtube the shame I find him funny.
