Use the browser, doesn't have all the highly dubious permissions that the facebook app has either.

Although you won't be informed when you have a new message, notification, etc. Although you could set that to trigger an email so you'd get the email notification.

We used to have a sort of fabric sleeve for plastic bags, elasticated at top and bottom with a bit of string at the top to hang it on a hook. New plastic bags could be stuffed in at the top, and you always took from the bottom, like a paper towel dispenser.
