  • Fuckstons are open on Sunday.

    haha, Fuckstains more like

  • 2 German property-developers.

  • How long do people normally have to wait for a decision on an offer? Number of business days? I would like to get an idea of what is normal and reasonable.

  • They are probably waiting for all the offers to roll in so they can decide.

  • ^ Unless there's a good excuse like the vendor is out of the country/gran has died, my responses have come within two hours of making the offer.

But as others have said; it takes time to drum up offers from other people in response to yours.

  • I had to wait 5 days. Then that particular estate agent went on holiday and his colleague took over me upping my offer, vendor coming down etc: 1.5 hours average between calls. So what I thought was an unreliable vendor who wasn't sure they wanted to sell was actually an estate agent, later described by a friend who also bought through him as 'clumsy and incompetent'
    Acorn

  • only way around it is to make a pain the arse of yourself.

or ask jeez, he's an estate agent.

  • It is Jeez

  • *it isn't

  • I'm trying to decide how to approach it so it comes across as "pull your finger out" and not "I'm desperate, please fleece me".

  • RING DAMN YOU! I've got another viewing tonight that I would like to sack off but at the minute its probably wise to still go. One tmrw morning also.

  • Go to it. You never know - this one might be better than the one you've offered on.

  • Not judging by street view. But it is bastard cheap. Big garden too but also a train line at the end of the garden. Anyway. Pros and cons everywhere. Hard to reserve judgement. The place I do want looked ropey from the website but great in the flesh/bricks and mortar

  • if it's cheap and big, make sure you cough up for the deluxe, hotwax and a handjob HB survey.

tho im sure i'm preaching to the choir.

  • Its cheap but not stupid cheap for the area, just a lot less than we were planning to have to spend. Cheers though, I will be asking for a happy ending with my survey.

  • I'll need some kind of stress relief once I get into the proper head fuck stage and I'm married so....

  • back of the bike sheds. no tongues. no diners club. nohomo.

  • Natch

Live home buying update: called the estate agent, told me exactly the same thing he did this morning but that he would definitely absolutely positively scout's honour call me back before 6.

He also said they're open til 7, but they're website says 8. WHY MUST YOU TURN MY FAG BREAK INTO A HOUSE OF LIES?!?!?!

  • Offer accepted. Now the proper brick shitting part.

  • well done.

    now run.

  • Where to?

  • The hills!

  • He's coming to get you

  • Not judging by street view. But it is bastard cheap. Big garden too but also a train line at the end of the garden. Anyway. Pros and cons everywhere. Hard to reserve judgement. The place I do want looked ropey from the website but great in the flesh/bricks and mortar

Is the train line proximity really a downside? I wouldn't mind it, even might like it, not sure why though. Congratulations on having the offer accepted on the other place though.

  • We saw a place where the tracks were slightly above the level of the back garden and the closest rail was about 5m from the fence. Not so sure I could get used to that.
