Cheers Henry. I really loved the Verenti Rhigos with Ultegra but sadly I've got no experience of SRAM so I tend to discount them which is a bit stupid clearly. I'll add that to the list too.
Sram is more similar to Shimano than Campag, because of the lack of thumb shifters. The new Shimano hoods are getting more and more similar to Sram ones because they're really comfy. Shifting wise, Sram feels like the lever engages quicker and the double tap mechanism feels very natural.
It's all personal preference and Shimano, Campag and Sram all do the job with minimal fuss.
