I've rebuilt them with new gaskets and O-rings. The problem is that the engine dies off idle. It stalls at around 4000rpm. I'm going to tinker with the fuel–air mixture screw tonight and check that the throttle cables are synched. I've found all the relevant online resources but I feel like an experienced hand would do the job quicker and with more confidence.
I just want to get them working to a level that I can at least limp to a garage for a service. I'm determined not to call out a trailer.
