Dunno - that new york video of the guy protesting about blocked cycle lanes by riding into things implies you must be in the cycle lane (and therefore to one side) if there is one. If there isn't one?
Have to say, there's no real reason for the cyclist to attempt the overtake through a tiny gap just after the car originally gets ahead. Then of course the driver commits numerous assaults and is generally a ginormous belm so loses any sympathy.
