Pre-Cursa - First Track Build

So, the time has come to build a bike. Never done a complete build from scratch before so advice on parts/building will be appreciated.

I got my self a Dolan Pre-Cursa 50cm figuring spending less on the frameset (but one that's still good) will lead to better parts. So here is a picture of what I have so far, the stem shown is purely to hold the forks on, I don't think I'd even be able to reach that. A better picture will follow and obviously more as it gets built.

Hopefully this will be a success.

Actually looking at getting omnoms, got a fair bit of dollar left over for parts to be fair so it should work out alright

That sounds like an interesting combination, isn't that quite a classic looking ring? Should look cool though!

so here are some possible bar candidates as it stands at the minute:

FSA K-Force carbon risers, slightly chopped with champ grips. I think they look beautiful personally.

Managed to pick up some Bontrager Race-Lite drops dirt cheap too so I thought I might as well. Got some ODI long necks to chop down too, prefer grips on builds like this personally.

So when you say Track you mean Tarck?

As in a track bike that you ride on the street rather than a velodrome

Oh yea then I'm building a tarck bike haha, might take it to a velodrome sometimes though.

165mm omniums and MKS gr-9 pedals, both in stealthy black of course

Probably extreme measures for weight saving or something, got grips on them now so they're covered anyway

wondering about wheels now, looking at the miche pistard wr set, or building something around h plus son f30 rims, any thoughts on hubs etc?

think of a budget or you really can just go to town. Tester approves SystemX/On-one hubs and frankly, they're bomb proof. I'm a big fan of Goldtec hubs. Others skip that and go Paul/Phil

Thanks Chack, been looking at the Phil and Paul hubs, and might be able to stretch to their price, but am I right in thinking h plus son are good? Seen good reviews on here

Thanks man! Got some new njs drive train components on the way now, izumi v 'super toughness' chain, MKS fit alpha straps, dura ace lock ring and EAI 17t cog. Anyone know good plastic DB/DG cages?

The super tough chain is awesome btw. Love mine on my DF4
