Yeah but does training form always translate into racing form? I'm sure Porte's numbers are spot on, but Wiggins in the more battle-hardened, he looked mighty impressive in the ToC.
I remember Cound tweeting that Froome and Wiggins would never ride together again, didn't they ride Oman or something early season though? I still see no reason to block him riding apart from a personality clash.
Form is form. They'll know what he can do, physically and he's been a racer for many years so it's not like he'll suddenly be skittish or something.
