  • Bit touchy, are we? The reason for bringing LS into it is because there's no way you'll keep him once RM/PSG et al come knocking. Maybe this season, not next. Lambert was the penalty taker for Saints last season, yes, but you've already got Gerrard. Also, when I was last here his rumoured price was £9m, which has now gone down significantly.

Looking at things and developing? Have you signed a new central defence while I've been away?

Touchy? Not at all. I've watched the initial proposed fee start at about £20M less than a fortnight back and now the numbers are something like £30M. NUTS. LFC have been there too many times.

"The reason for bringing LS into it is because there's no way you'll keep him once RM/PSG et al come knocking."
Is that a fact or wishful thinking? Exactly how many experts on this thread wanked themselves blind repeating exactly those words this time last year?? How many press pages repeated the same line?
If he goes, then fine. If he stays then fine. Either way it's irrelevant mentioning the two in the same conversation as they offer different options for the same desired outcome. At the risk of looping myself, I'm just grateful we've not gone another slight tiki taka style baller. It's an acknowledgement of last season's failings -> managerial growth.
Ask yourself this: Would Lambert have missed that chance that Moses had in the Palace game?

Anyway, you of all people should be looking at our manager and owner's stance when LS tried talking himself out of his contract. We kept our star man minus CL football. How'd it feel watching Bale score in the CL final with Luka pulling the strings in midfield?
