I have just received a phone call from CLP, and told me that he just wanted to check if i didn't sell him a broken wheel and that he did break his chain whip on the Cog but it was a cheap tool, therefore took it to his lbs (not BLB) and they removed it with ease and checked the wheel and told him all was good and that the wheel was in good order. After that he sold it to his mate who is a big lad (90kg over ) rides a lo pro and while trying to do a whip skid the hub broke out. So we have agreed that the fault was there and that there is no need to continue this discussion. I must add that he and mostly his mate were obviously upset and not happy about the situation but also agreed that he didn't mean to threaten me at all.
Think this ends here.

But today is Friday. Friday means popcorn!

Glad it's been settled amicably.
Is it possible to ban someone from buying or selling on here or even viewing classifieds while allowing them use of the rest of the forum? Clp clearly doesn't understand the ethic of this place and only wants to make a quick buck off of people so maybe for his own sanity it'd be best if he wasn't trading on here... -

But in the next version, on Microcosm, yes.
We've made it so that people can be banned from one part of the site but not the whole site. This was inspired by a couple of current members who would only ever get in trouble in some parts of the forum but were fine elsewhere... if their net contribution to the community was a positive one, then I don't want to ban them (seems excessive), but if I can prevent them being in the one part of the site that seems to be a problem for them, then that seems like a good way to get the benefit without the drama.

Will Microcosm have tags?

Sounds like it would also allow communities to have parts of their site behind a pay wall.

I'd pay not to be on here sometimes

Will Microcosm have tags?
It has #hashtags . Which does mean people can't hide behind anonymity.
Sounds like it would also allow communities to have parts of their site behind a pay wall.
Someone is suggesting the use of Microcosm for their product, the gist being a self-help forum with a section for how to lose weight, or how to give up smoking... and you'd pay to access those areas.
That stuff is possible, but it wasn't the goal.
The goal was to allow LFGSS Ladies to ban someone being a jerk in their section, without it affecting the wider site. Or for the Polo mods to ban someone their, without it affecting the wider site.
As sites grow, the effect of a ban is grows in severity too. But sometimes it's necessary to ban for something trivial but urgent... to calm a situation or something. This stuff just helps make that possible.

You had me at "how to lose weight"...

Ride more, eat less
That will be £5 please

Don't have time to ride more. Eating less is doable but so tiresome.

i can't get over the term 'belm'
can anyone clarify what this is or means because a brief google search revealed that its some sort of German town or province, which i fail to register as an insult? did i miss something?
i haven't giggled so much in weeks though, the forum on fantastic form as per -

It's an insult to do with someone with cerebral palsy.

Sigh, he's also been pissing me about for a few weeks. Too busy 'with exams' to come and pick up a frame I'm giving him FOR FREE but not too busy to get himself banned from lfgss.com.
Er dibs?

So a bike shop checked it and said it was OK...yet he still came back to you.
Glad it's been settled amicably.
...You could say that...
But today I have learnt what a belm is....

Hi guys, just to bring some closure to this incident, my friend group from school have frequently used the term "belm" in the past. The word is derived from "belmet" which in fact is a term created by joining "bell" or "bellend" on to the other term "helmet".
e.g: "You're a fucking belm aren't ya"
Hope this has helped.

Curiously I often find myself misreading the logo on 'bern' or 'bell' helmets as 'belm'. I blame this place
