Was cycling with my gf yesterday, she is small and cute and for some reason attracts the kind of cunt that likes to get really close and then sound the horn for jollies (It's happened a few times in the last few months) and a guy did this to her yesterday. I was ahead of her, she caught him at the lights to explain what a dangerous and stupid thing it is to do which she did calmly but assertively but it seemed to amuse him greatly, he pulled in to a shop and I went up the road to show her a shop, as we turned round to come back he also turned round and as he passed her he sounded his horn and then deliberately rode into me knocking me to the ground (off of my vintage Paletti) and sped off, anyway fortunately I had his registration number from when we were at the lights so went straight to the cops. I'm scraped down one side but not bad at all considering and mercifully for the bike I took most of the impact of the fall. He will lose his license for sure and will get a fat fine (this is France, which means absolute liability and failure to stop is very serious). It's worth training yourself to immediately look at the registration number and remembering it when anyone does something aggressive or dangerous, It's happened many times before when someone has done something and sped off and I'm too furious to get the number. I literally forced myself to start doing it as a discipline.
I think the worst thing is not the fact that there is a psychopathic cunt willing to use his car as a weapon but that none of the people waiting in either bus stop even asked me if I was ok, and when I asked them for a pen to note the number they all pretty much ignored me. (None of the witnesses would have seen the previous altercation because it was 100 metres away and 10 minutes or so before) Depressing,

Brilliant! If that was here you'd be lucky to even get noticed by to police.

You'll be pleased to know, she's safely tucked up in my shed.
I was riding my Fuji at the time because it was wet and the Fuji has a brake.
It seems fine but needs a new front end though...

All's good then :p
Make sure you have the drivers details, and wait for a week or more to see if any medical problems arise before considering a settlement. That would be my advice. It worked for me last year when something similar happened.

Wish we have something like that here.

^ That'll be the painkillers.
Glad to hear you're ok. There have been a couple of serious injuries involving squirrels and fast descents in Richmond Park over the last few years. One friend of a forumenger was in intensive care for a while because they face-planted into one of the wooden posts on the side of the road when the squirrel committed suicide in his front wheel.

they should make the squirrels wear hi-viz.
