The original police report covered all the main points.
Custom wheels with and weird offset radial lacing on the front, weird chipping on headtube from previous owner, etc etc.
Guy handling it even brought up the report and asked me about the phil sprocket, quick wipe off of grease and hey presto there it was.
I've offered additional stuff when first dealing with it, but not sure whats happening now, believe are sargeant is being asked.

rather than having to trawl gumtree daily this may help some people

though I guess it depends on what the bike is listed under

If anyone lost a TT bike, one dodgy guy is selling many high end (all the same number, email and location). Probably 20k TT bike for 1 guy in whitechapel....doesn't sound right especially when all the ads have been removed very quickly less than 24h later (so google cache link):
And I know that i missed few, can be a simple scam but few bike have the same background. They all appear on BikeHD.

Jeezus, you're not joking. Had a click through, that's a lot of expensive carbon to have in one house.
02096 strange tel no. too.

So is it completely unethical to go looking for components at Brick lane market? Or are there some sellers who aren't profiting off the work of bike thieves?

huge creepy crawler rear tyrePlease get in touch via pm here or on facebook I have put my heart and soul into doing these bikes up and they are so worthless to anyone who doesn't ride trials its unreal. I do not understand the benefit these people would get from stealing them, and it would be a real shame if they literally ended up as junk, or sold as kids bikes...
Your help would be greatly appreciated! Please get in touch if you have any news or advice for me with regards to hunting these down.
Regards

right, so now its gotta come to lawyers over the PreCursa.
All this because I was honest enough/disgusted enough to point out the stem and seatpost were added after the theft.
In all honesty. Fuck five-oh

Get it on http://stolen-bikes.co.uk/ and check eBay. Thieves can be stupid.

Ha, gets better.
Just received an email and apparently one of the wheels isn't mine.
Assume that'd be the one that I didn't explain and point out supporting evidence that its mine.
Bikes have three wheels right?

I've just joined the forum and spotted this thread...it's unlikely to do any good now as it was a while ago that it was stolen. But worth a try. I bought a new Fuji Track Classic 2.1, it was black and aluminium (slightly thicker than the steel version) which is not that common (I think only evans cycles sold that version at the time). It was stolen from outside my flat in Oxford after only a few days...didn't even have chance to take any pictures of it. God knows where it is now.....and I doubt anyone will have any information about this.....this is more a first post/obituary.
On a side note, how gutting is that feeling when you see the empty space where your bike used to be!
Such is life....

Missus' bike got stolen last night (May 29) between 5:30pm-7:55pm outside Oasis Leisure centre (Endell st, end of Shaftesbury ave, off covent garden) where it was locked to the railing directly outside the entrance.
It's a tiny road bike 44cm black with pink highlights, Cannondale Synapse with white deep section wheels, black tyres, SRAM rival group set, white hood, black bar tape. It is a custom build.
(lost bike has 2 wheels...)

A friend of mine has had her bike stolen from the Angel area.
It's a "silver Pinnacle Neon with blue writing", and therefore I *think *it looks like this one:

Not sure if she's changed / upgraded anything from standard spec, but will update once she gets back to me.In the meantime, if anyone sees something similar whilst trawling the internet for bargains, please let me know.

will keep an eye out locally.. there's an estate behind Screen on the Green that always seems a bit suspect. I've seen someone walk into there with bolt croppers and a bike and called the feds on a pair of people hacksawing a cable lock on Cross St on these poles.

Had this stolen from my courtyard in Dalston over the weekend, was meant to he working on it for a friend.
The frame is an Ammaco around a 65 seat tube, charge saddle, 105 front brake.
Don't have much info on it as hadn't really started to work on it yet.

My Wife's treasured fixie was stolen by scum bag thieves from outside our flat in Highgate on the 31st May or thereabouts.
I'm pretty sure there aren't that many of these around as this one was brought over from Canada.
I'm offering a £50 reward for information leading to its recovery.
Thanks for looking.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5915869/soma.jpg

Not sure where to post this but I figured it can be moved.
This morning I was locking my bike when I noticed that the bike that was already there was not locked. I looked up and down the road - nothing. Proceeded to lock my bike and move the unlocked bike into the reception of our office - so that you can see the bike through the glass from the street light where it was originally leaned and not locked. I thought it was the good samaritan thing to do. I didn't leave a note because I felt it would invite just anyone to come in and claim the bike. My initial thought was that someone in their rush to get to work was just a bit silly (the lock and detachable light were also still on the bike).
However the longer the day went on I started thinking that the bike may have been originally stolen and then just dumped there. As I was finishing up (18.30-ish) there was still no contact.
So my plan is to contact the police in the morning and report the whole incident and pass the bike to them. I don't want to post the image of the bike here as I'm cynical enough to think that a random might claim it. But if you feel that this fits your experience in SoHo today, please PM for a bit of description and following conformation, a reunion with your bike.
Now was I stupid for doing what I did? Not sure, but I just couldn't sit and do nothing when a bike was just left there.
