Fitted the front mudguard to my wife's new build last night. I assumed these forks were made for 27" wheels, but I was struggling to fit a 25c + mudguard on it, so I'm guessing they're 700c and not original because the back wheel is 27" and needed a long reach caliper.
I had to file out and bend the tab for the mudguard attachment at the brake hole. I could've bought a Sheldon nut, but I didn't. The mudguard rubs on the tire until the brake arms are squeezed in. This isn't an issue because the brake is fully open at the moment and when I squeezed the arms into where they would normally sit, it's fine. Worse come to worse and I'll file the top of the mudguard.
I need to tidy the tab up a bit and bend it better. I ran out of time last night.
