On a lighter note; there were some beautiful vignettes in the coverage today. Very arty :-)
Also, I'd never realised how much Kiserlovski looks like Anton du Beke.

I'm sorry but I don't speak Spanish.

my limited italian can just about work out that it is (probably) Italian.

Si vis pacem, para bellum
Whatever was said on race radio, Uran was naive not to cover the moves.

'Neutralised' doesn't necessarily allow for riders to ponce around for a few mins changing clothes at the top though, does it?
If Quintana was in the same group as Uran, summits, and Uran stops, that's not so much attacking as just pushing on, especially if the moto with the flag was pacing them. I remember seeing a lot of riders trying to put on jackets whilst still moving and riding into each other so stopping anyway...

I agree. I'm just stirring the pot, it wouldn't be a proper Giro without controversy.

Anyone know who shows the best highlights? I can only ever seem to find the last 10 km...
Best I can find at the moment (on iPhone...)

Did anybody notice a cyclist descending the finishing straight with a commissaire on foot chasing him around the time Uran came in; what happened there?
-
• #663
It was Hesjedal, I assume he was heading back down the valley to the team hotel. Maybe the commissaire wanted his autograph.
-
• #664
He had to get his specimen from the hotel before doping control closed and commissaire told him to hurry.

I agree. I'm just stirring the pot
Troppi cuochi guastan la cucina. :)

rain and no leg warmers.
Yes.

• #667
Either way, the commissaires need to step in now and resolve the issue - either the race was neutralised or it wasn't, but you cannot communicate this and then say you didn't.
Twitter != race radio, even if it is the organiser's account.

I'm not convinced this is going to favour Quintana all that much. The gap is coming down and Uran is sat pretty in the chase group.
Hindsight rules.

Does anyone know how many riders have dropped out from the giro so far? Crazy that greenedge only have 4 atm
Not at all given they have no GC interest and have already held the pink bits for the first week. And because crashes.
-
• #670
GreenEdge are down to 3 riders.
Aussies rule .
How many Brits have won stages in this year's Giro? How many have worn the Maglia RAussie?

Say what you like about Ryder Hesjedal, but you cannot question his ability to dig deep.
All the drugs he took back in the day have really helped him find new performance levels.

Hindsight rules.
I reckon Uran was just keeping the maglia rosa warm.

Hugely impressive ride by Ryder today, seconds off a man who must weigh 1/3 less his body weight. Moar watts.
Also, how crazy to ride into the top ten on the first /serious/ mountain stage after such an ordeal two weeks ago. No team support, just rides out of his skin.Meh. If training is about overload and adaptation, how much overload was he able to manage when he was on the special sauce?

Basso has said tonight that he was told on Twitter more than 10 days ago that the race had been neutralised.
