After spending all day on Sunday haring round Snetterton, desperately seeking out every tenth of a second, I decided a more leisurely approach to life was required today. But it also occurred to me that while I'd done a few century rides during sportives, I'd never done a solo century. So, heading north into the wind to start off with, I headed off to Norfolk and some quiet country lanes.
After the pancake-flat Fens over to Mildenhall and north from there, the terrain changed to gentle rolling hills. Which was nice. And some pleasingly quiet roads. Quiet enough to take a look-it's-ironic picture of the Winter Trainer, today's choice of bike given the threat of rain and the fact that it happened to be the bike ready to go in the hallway which wasn't a Brompton.
Up to RAF Marham, across to Kings Lynn, and then down via Downham Market and Denver Sluice. All-in-all, a Good Day Out.
