Yeah, I mean why would anyone, maybe female and a bit worse for wear, (or someone who loves them for that matter) want regulation for the person drving them home late at night?

Not like it is as important job at all. In fact if we're gonna deregulate properly and get prices right down why the fuck don't we abolish MOT and insurance requirements for minicabs?

After all the market is king and anything that gets in the way of a free market is EVIL. And if it drives fares down so far that drivers can't live on the money then so what. That's what we pay taxes for isn't, working tax credits for people whose jobs have been deregulated to a level where they can't even support their families?

You keep focusing on the vulnerable. What about people like me who are perfectly comfortable sitting in a car driven by anyone who has a driving license?

Doctors have an important job - I'm glad they are regulated. Taxi drivers, not so much. Even if black cabs disappeared, that doesn't stop other regulated, safe, lovely Jeez-approved options being available. But no, you've gone straight for the OMG! they're taking our black cabs option.
