Where on earth have I said that I am an expert on black cab and mini-cab regulation?

The only thing that I am an expert on in terms of this debate is that people who celebrate de-regulation each and every time they see it are generlly thick, rightwing arseholes who detest every single thing about the state until such time as they want a road or a hospital or a school for their kid, at which point they moan and moan that what is provided is not the best in the world.

I have repeatedly said that I am no fan of black cabs, but I am even less of a fan of the constant quest for de-regulation because very often the benefits are zero or negative.

You did state that people who seem to be opposed to the black cab tantrum are in support of unregulated hire cars.

At least, that's what this means to me:

Yeah, I mean why would anyone, maybe female and a bit worse for wear, (or someone who loves them for that matter) want regulation for the person drving them home late at night?
So I'm curious how these differences in regulation play out.

You're making one of two arguments, I think.

One: Black cabs drivers have stricter regulations which make them safer.

Two: A hypothetical argument.

That is, you've conflated complaints about a monopolistic industry with arguments in favour of the total deregulation of that industry. However, I suspect no one is in favour of this, and I certainly haven't seen anyone argue for it.

But maybe I've missed something.
