I've been wearing glasses every day of my life for 25 years and I've only ever been to Specsavers...
There is always some way of getting a free eye test if you look online and depending on the time of year they offer either bogof frames or free prescription sunglasses. There are so many stores in the country that you can have your glasses fixed for free pretty much anywhere if you need to.
If you're looking to save money, you can use your prescription details and order your spectacles online.
