... an old colleague and film obsessive who amongst many other banned/unreleased things at the time had the uncut version of the original RoboCop (approved for a Belgian audience if memory serves), which in the scene where Murphy is killed is nothing short of disgusting (in the version I have he rises for his final round of gunfire already missing an arm - the Belgian cut shows its removal and much more besides),

I need to see that version, looking for that scene on youtube and the like perhaps someone has posted it. What happened to Paul Verhoeven?... Oh I just remembered 'Showgirls'.

Watching Enemy Mine now...

Me and my brother watched that film so many times!

I'm a bit nutty about The Fly and finish up equally exhausted come the end each time I watch it, although the sequel was unbearably silly.

At the time I thought it was ok, but over time I have come to the same conclusion its just inferior to the first film. I saw bits of it again, and it just has not aged well.

I haven't watched the remake for obvious reasons.

The remake is not bad, think of it as a different film and not a remake and it is quite satisfying.
