-
• #1904
Ouch :/ ^

Hi,
I got a matte black PC and thinking of a way to black the decals out. What are you guys using for that. I should not look like a child has gone mad with the pencils.Hair dryer and peel them off?

Hair dryer and peel them off?
Won't do the trick. It's really hard paint.

Any reason for the larger gearing?

72GI, ring is just for looks tbh
-
• #1910
Fair enough. Personally I think about 52t is spot on looks wise but it's certainly different
-
• #1911
Thought it was a lots more than that, 72GI is only a little higher than normal.

Changed to single speed as bored of riding on gravel/off-road fixed as miss the fun on downhills and single-track. Picked up some forks in Dolan sale for 40 odd quid which match well and allow front brake rather than drilling my Alpina track fork
-
• #1913
I really like that ^ did you used to own a Steamroller?
-
• #1914
Yes, have had a few Steamrollers. Prefer the handling of the Dolan.

• #1915
what tyres are you using? what size? I
-
• #1916
^^^ did you drill the rear bridge?
-
• #1917
Tyres looks like 28c ribmo
-
• #1918
I am using 25c Ribmo as they work fine on gravel and hopefully won't puncture too much without being too heavy.
Yes, drilled the rear bridge with an electric hand drill and used a front brake to get the longer bolt and just used a nut to secure rather than an internal allen nut as felt it was safer making as small a hold as possible (plus you can drill straight through as hole size the same both sides so no awkward angles drilling from back of bridge) -

Installed a new stem, risers and paselas. Ebayhustler sent 135mm stem instead of a 100mm but its not too bad.

Hey did you do stage 2 today?
Yep I did stage 2 last week, really enjoying being on an indoor track, hard to beat isn't it!

The PC needed maintenance, the bearing cup on the headset was seized to the fork and the other cup seized in the headtube, but with some gentle use of powertools we managed to cut the seized parts loose and install the new bearing cartridge.
