I wanted the normal transfer jacket. good price, I thought, until I saw it only applied to orange.
hrumph.I'm told the orange looks better in the flesh than it does on the website. Still not convinced personally. Anyone got the Raeburn one? Slightly tempted at closer to £200 with discount...

It doesn't (IMO).

Yes. Bought it just before finding out about the code. Doh.
It seems pretty good, although it's hardly the weather for it ATM so I haven't worn it yet.

Avoid the Rapha Transfer jacket if you have any bags with velcro. The "Thermoroubaix side panels and cuffs" (side panels mainly), are extremely fragile and sensitive to being torn-up. Used on one ride around the city, with my PAC bag, and by the evening all the side panels were fluffy and ruined. Silly, fragile design. Returned. Go for one of these instead. Both excellent options for lightweight synthetic insulated jackets. Although, with this weather, they're all kind of pointless at the moment.

I echo the same with a Gabba...stupidly wore my bag with my gabba and one strap has a little bit of velcro on it (thanks Deuter) biking specific bag with the one item that ruins lycra!
Had to strap it up with electric tape but too late, tiny amount of bobbling in the region. Sad face.

what's the difference between those and the uniqlo ones?
Is it just that they ^ are synthetic rather than down so more practical for cycling?

I bot the Raeburn one before the discount code, but my size is sold out so net net, I'm okay with that.
I also have the transfer jacket in black. Both jackets are beautiful, and are in constant rotation on chillier days/nights. I've had a number of positive compliments on the Raeburn jacket, the olive green quilts stand out nicely.

Best mitts available
Wrong answer. The grippps are great but mine, and many others have split on the seams of each finger for no reason. The giros, whilst pricier, are far better quality wise.

the giros look pretty sexy.

Really want another PTJ in non-shouty orange. Ridiculous but whatever

Na - shit quality gloves.

^ This. Worn through the palm of my Grippps for the second time (they replaced the first pair FOC to be fair) and, though they're the best mitts I've owned in terms of fit/comfort, they're just too fragile.
I've decided to go gloveless this summer. No more panda hands for me.

I bought a variety of Giro mitts and gloves when they were on sport pursuit. Would be unlikely to choose a different brand in the future. I've got the Ambient (fantastic winter glove), LTZ (perfect hot weather glove), Monaco (good all rounder glove but the padding can be a bit much on hot days and long rides), and the Bravo LF (similar to the monaco but long fingered gloves. Great for when you want full gloves but not insulation. Also, iPhone works through these).

Castelli Vellocissimo mitts are my favourites.

I found out this Velcro v Lycra thing too when I washed my club jersey in the same load as my gloves. Wounded.

Put each glove inside a sock when you wash them to prevent this.

Yep i have an assos washbag so mitts go in there.

To wash gloves, I wear them and then use a nice natural, biodegradable soap (the type found in camping shops) or Simple and just wash them as if I'm washing my hands.
Give them a rinse and that's it.

the threads in my drive side crank arm decided to strip about 50 yards from getting home yesterday morning and i consequently have a small (a couple of mm long) hole in the elbow of my PTJ. Is the repair service likely to send it back with a patch on the elbow, a stitch in the hole or a replaced panel?

From my experience it would be a patch unless it is a very small panel.
