Looks quite tasty. Assume the entry level one will be 105 11 speed.

Yup at £1399

I was planing to buy an Infinite AL 8.0 but they've sold out, and that's that. No more being made. They said I'll have to wait until the 2015 bikes come out in Oct/Nov.
That was a month ago. Bunch of amateurs.

Not impressed by Endurace CF tbh; weird geo* and all that carbon fibre money for weight saving of 600grams over roadlite AL!?
*compared to Roadlite Al which comes under their 'sport' geometry
-
• #358
600g in the right places represents a pretty decent weight saving.
The bike is clearly about quality of ride, not weight. Have you ridden it? Answer: no.Internet bike buyer/fitter.

• #359
Yeah fair enough; when I'll be up for buying I will get a Roadlite AL with VCLS post. I was just surprised that the diff between AL and Carbon bike can be so less* (for a lot of money).
*not comparing anything else; ride quality etc
Y so grump monday-dan? Its an internet bike company.

• #360
Or maybe the carbon one with shimano 105 11sp
-
• #361
Is the geo weird? It's just a bit shorter and taller than (already short and tall) regular road models.
600g sounds about right. 300g saved on the wheels, 400g on the frame, then add a bit for the bendy seatpost?
-
• #362
exactly - seems like fairly standard 'sportive' geo to me.

I have an Ultimate CF 8.0, my summer steed. But I wanted a much lighter winter trainer than the steel one I'd been using, so have ordered a 105 Roadlite. For £900 and some Raceblade longs, I think I'll have a pretty nippy alternative to the Ultimate.
I also do a fair bit of winter miles on my Surly Steamroller, too.
Anyway, still a few weeks to delivery...

Really good ride that; the only Canyon I've actually ridden; top value. You didnt want to wait for 11 speed 105?
-
• #365
TBH 10 or 11spd does not make a big difference to my life.
-
• #366
Fair enough; its hardly any diff tbh. But now that I've seen the new 105 I find the old one not as good looking ;) Esp the 4 arm cranks

Unless they've changed the geo - you will be hard pushed to get anything bigger than 25's under raceblades on a Roadlite. Though 25's can handle pretty much anything this country can dish out.
-
• #368
They come with 25's I can get a pic if you want to see mudguard clearance with 105 brakes* .. anyway raceblade long doesent need that
- another reason that 5800 is better as they are claiming 28mm clearance with mudguard possibility on calipers

Amey - seriously. Your use of asterisks is so annoying. Stahp pls!

I hope the 25s and 105 brakes work with the Raceblade Longs, but if not, it to would be fine for me to switch to 23s.
I think it will be an awesome winter trainer!

It's the apostrophe (mis)use the gets me.

The race blade longs don't need more few mm. I think you'll be OK.
I'm sold on 28mm+ for winter riding. 25s are OK but I still find myself avoiding certain lanes or having to back off to pick my way over broken road. I go quicker on higher volume tyres.
Though 25's can handle pretty much anything this country can dish out.
Local councils are declassifying a lot of nice cycling roads, effectively letting them degrade to rubble. It's particularly frustrating here in Gloucestershire because we have a lot of roads (to ignore).

^ try Kent. It's like the fucking Somme. I've given up riding nice wheels there - hand built box sections only from now on.

It will. I absolutely loved mine until some bastard nicked it. I've never really got on well with the Rourke that replaced it :(

A friend of mine got a BB failure on his summer bike. Sent it back to Canyon a month ago, still waiting for its return.
Put me right off.
